The lymphatic system is part of the vascular system and at the same time part of the immune system. If there is a disruption in the flow of lymph in the body (e.g. due to injuries, operations, genetic reasons), it is often the job of a therapist to support the transport of lymph in the affected region of the body.

Using special grip techniques, the therapist stimulates the flow of lymph in the body and thus prevents or reduces the development of swelling (edema), which at the same time supports the local immune system in the event of chronic lymph flow disorders.
