Functional Movement Screening (FMS)
The Functional Movement Screen (FMS) is an assessment and classification system that records simple, fundamentally functional and natural movement patterns. Using these movement patterns, it is possible to identify movement deviations and asymmetries that occur, which can lead to compensatory movements and thus to incorrect loading. The 7 basic movement patterns of the FMS are based on a point system that is coupled with targeted and effective correction strategies. These correction strategies can be easily integrated into training plans to ensure adequate restoration of mechanically sound movement patterns and thus no longer lead to compensation patterns. In training therapy, the FMS provides an excellent opportunity to easily control and adapt the influence of training and rehabilitative measures on movement patterns.
